Free health screenings in Kulai draw huge response
JOHOR BAHRU: 9 JUNE 2024
A number of Malaysians are seizing the opportunity to go for free health screenings organized by non-governmental organizations (NGO) or medical bodies. This is because there has been a rise in non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and cancer. In a commendable effort to promote health awareness and early detection of common medical conditions, a free medical screening programme was held at AEON Mall, Kulai. It was a collaborative initiative by the Malaysian Dato Entrepreneurs Association (MDEA), Johor Doctors Association (JDA), and KPJ Kluang Hospital. This community-driven event aimed to provide accessible healthcare services to the public, ensuring that individuals could receive essential health screenings and professional medical advice without financial burden.
The primary objective of this medical screening programme was to enhance public health awareness and encourage preventive healthcare measures among the residents of Johor. By offering free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels, the organisers hoped to identify individuals at risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and other health issues early. He stressed that this turnout reflected the community’s recognition of the importance of regular health check-ups and their trust in the quality of services provided by the organisers. These initiatives aim to reach a broader audience, ensuring that more residents have access to essential health screenings and medical advice. The efforts of the MDEA, JDA and KPJ Kluang Hospital in organizing this event were instrumental in promoting health awareness and early detection of common medical conditions.
MDEA and JDA thanked AEON Mall Kulaijaya for sponsoring the venue and to the doctors, medical officers and nurses from KPJ Kluang and volunteers for making this event a success.
